Representation of the South Moravian Region to the European Union

The goal of the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the European Union is to establish co-operation between the South Moravian Region and other European regions, promote the region abroad, arrange contacts and provide information about current events in European policy, and present and assert the interests of the South Moravian Region within the institutions of the European Union.

The Representation of the South Moravian Region to the European Union was ceremonially opened on 11 October 2007.

The main activities of the Representation include the following:

  • Obtaining and exchanging of current information regarding EU legislation and grant programmes
  • Preparation and implementation of seminars, presentations and other activities on themes specific to and in the interest of the South Moravian Region 
  • Support for applicants from the South Moravian Region for financial support from European resources
  • Arranging of contacts between senior representatives of European institutions and representatives of the South Moravian Region in the fields of policy, public administration, science and business
  • Creation of contacts and co-operation with other European regions
  • Study visits for officials and students to the South Moravian Region representation
  • Provision of information to those interested in information about the South Moravian Region
